What are the options for longer trips? Is there a Deluxe Package?

Our Deluxe Cruise Package offers 3 days plus 2 nights of Desolation Sound and Toba Inlet, a cruise that will take your breath away. You get to customize the menus and wine list in advance of the cruise. Of course, like all our cruises, the package is all inclusive!

A cruise would be nice, but I want to get out there fast to enjoy the sights. What can you do for me?

Our 18-foot speedboat is perfect for you! It will cruise at 40 knots and we will have you out in not time, flat!

What types of fish can I fish for and how big am I likely to catch?

We fish for salmon, cod, snapper, prawns, crab and shellfish. As for size, we leave that up to you! Of course, we have seen our share of big ones, too.

What permits or licenses do I need to fish in your area?

Daily fishing licenses are available locally for both local fishers and visitors to the area.

I am already certified to dive. Can I rent or find equipment locally?

We will arrange reservations and rentals of any diving equipment you require; just ask us about it when you reserve your cruise.

I have never done scuba diving. Is there anything you can do for me?

Certainly! One option is to go snorkelling, or better yet, how about a lesson for your first time diving orientation by our Certified Dive Master?

How large a group can your boat handle?

The Carrousel comfortably accommodates up to 12 people on a cruise. Each of the two bedrooms has a queen-sized bed and there is a living room/lounge aboard. Our speedboat can take 6 people.

What measures are in place to ensure safety?

Rest assured that safety is primary in our operation. We use only the best quality and most current equipment available. All our safety equipment is Canadian Coast Guard approved.

When we are diving, what sea life are we likely to encounter?

This area, and the ocean around Powell River in general, is known around the world for some of the best diving available. National Geographic magazine thought so, too! In short, there is everything to see.

Do you have seals, sea lions and whales in your area?

Yes. Definitely. And yes, if you are a bit lucky.

Do you have all the equipment we need to fish?

We have the best of everything you will need, from lures and bait to rods, reels and fish finders!

Can we arrange a hiking or camping expedition through your company?

Absolutely! We work closely with other tour and guiding operators in the community to provide a wide range of wilderness opportunities. Just give us an idea of what you would like and we can organize your entire visit.

What if the weather is less than perfect?

Great question! Weather is the one thing we have no control over, of course. You will be comforted with the knowledge that we operate mostly in closely protected waters where weather has much less impact. Whatever the weather, you will be comfortable aboard the Carrousel.

How far ahead do I need to book my trip?

The sooner, the better. Local weather allows us to offer year-round cruises and fishing. You will want to note that our busiest months are July and August, but call early to make sure the day you want is available.
